It’s all change for the new normal

Fr Dominic
Parish Priest

Dear friends, many thanks for all your prayers and good wishes for my recovery. I have found it very frustrating not to be able to just get going at my usual speed, but, please God, it won’t be too much longer. Fr Antonio is taking a two week break before he gets ready to move to Bishops Stortford. Mgr Harry Turner will be supplying during that time and I am sure that you will give him a great welcome.

For those of you who have registered your children for the First Holy Communion and Confirmation Programmes, we are awaiting further instructions from the Diocese and the Bishops’ Conference on how we can proceed with COVID 19 safety in the forefront.

The new assistant priest is Fr John Warnaby and, as I am now Parish Priest for Borehamwood and St. Joseph’s Carpenters Park, we will share the responsibilities. Fr John will reside in Carpenders Park for the majority of the time and I will spend a week a month there and he will do likewise here.

For the time being we will continue to have all the masses in Borehamwood celebrated in St Teresa’s as the live streaming is there. As soon as restrictions ease we will begin using SS John Fisher and Thomas More again. For baptisms there can only be six people attending and the child is counted as one person. We are looking at using the noon mass for Baptisms as they have been much less attended and if the Baptism takes place at this Sunday Mass you may be able to book more guests. For funerals the maximum is thirty people and for weddings you are only allowed fifteen guests.
