How have you been?

Fr Antonio Pineda
Assistant Parish Priest

It’s now been a week since the closure of churches. We miss seeing all of you. We hope that you have been keeping well despite what is happening, and that you have been managing to get spiritual nourishment via various means despite temporarily losing access to the sacraments. Our parish website has many resources to help you keep the faith burning bright during this dark period.

As ever, you can watch the live streaming of the Sunday and weekday Masses that Fr Dominic and I still celebrate. The menu “Coronavirus” has also been added to the main navigation. This new section provides all the updates from the diocese and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, and explains how the changes affect the parish. The page also lists prayers, documents and links. These include Mass readings and the Order of Mass so that you can more fully participate when watching Mass online. Prayers include the popular prayer to your guardian angel for when you cannot attend Mass, prayer for a pandemic and spiritual Communion. Another popular resource is a listing of all parishes in our diocese which provide live streaming of their Mass services, so if you miss ours you can be sure to find another parish streaming their Mass live.

There are too many resources to list and so I hope you will visit our website on a regular basis. Our churches may have closed but we are still here for you: praying for you and thinking of you.
